Battle Girl Ultra United If you're looking for a full-on electronic dance style soundtrack to accompany your game playing experience then look no further, Battle Girl has several high energy grooves built-in, designed to compliment the very fast space style shoot-em up which is becoming very popular with action game pro's and newbies alike. As you can see from the preferences panel above your audio pleasure is top priority with the folks at Ultra-United, who've really gone out of their way to provide an excellent collection of grooves to make the already slippery fluid graphics seem to move even faster. In direct response to all the turgid interactive mystery games that currently seem to be flooding the market, this game gives the action seekers among us the chance to really get things moving. Enter Battle Girl, a highly excitable and impatient natural born killer, who just happens to have a Soyuz 1183-A spaceship and seems quite happy to hand complete control over to you. All is well until the action starts and you find yourself under attack from a seemingly infinite variety of nasty characters, all of which have to be kept at bay unless you want to come face to face with the evil robot - Terminus, who is very good at destroying the Soyuz, Battle Girl and, let's face it, you. You'll soon realise that it's up to you to pick up the pace a little, and really get yourself to the point where your reflexes are honed to a fine point, capable of pushing this already blazing fast game to it's limit. If you're quick enough you'll be able to stop Terminus from converting all the components to the dark side. If you're not you'd better watch out. As I mentioned earlier the soundtrack to Battle Girl really helps enhance the entire experience, with an emphasis on techno it helps maintain the kind of energy and concentration levels you'll need in a game which is utilizing the kind of raw computing power of the new breed of Mac's to power the 2D vector graphics. But don't worry if you're not running a G3 yet. Just tweak the insanely easy to use preferences panel to make the game run quickly on your machine - and crank the sounds. As a BIG added extra all the music featured throughout all 99 levels of game play are playable on a regular CD player. A great way to imagine you're still playing Battle Girl while on your way to the sleep deprivation clinic.
