Various - Speed
Mutant Sound System

Another compilation from the people at Mutant Sound System, this time packed with "Boomin' U.K. Underground Garage" (okay, so we'll just have to trust that they're telling the truth seeing as we're in Seattle, and about as far from the U.K. as you can easily get).

But you don't have to have a round trip ticket to hear the booming underground garage part, in fact the remixes from the likes of Tuff Jam, Nookie and New Horizons really add that irresistible edge to tracks which were sizable groovers in the first place.

Coming in at well over seventy minutes Speed - Volume One gives the growing legions of newcomers to the genre a wide range of sounds to absorb, before beginning the process of narrowing down their choices and going on from there.

If you just want something to make a party more into a party, then you'll be happy too.

Don't expect much in the way of tempo changes though, although any dance compilation compiler would no doubt point out that that's the nature of this particular beast. A brief respite from the boomin' bass beats can be found within and around the Phat Productions remix of Bug Kann's Made In Two Minutes, and also DB Selectives Free Breath, other than that it's non-stop 128 BPM action all the way.

Rating - 734,920 (out of a possible 1,000,000)
