This is the kind of music I love to hear on the radio late at night, beaming in from a million miles away. It's also the perfect soundtrack for a hike through a sprawling conurbation, ideally a deserted one.
Recorded and mixed at Sensorium Studio in Zagreb, Croatia last November Spiritual is the debut release from Cute Heels, a solo project of Victor Lenis, a native of Bogota, Columbia who currently lives in Brussels, Belgium.
It's a collection of music inspired by generations of electronic music styles, from the analog synthesizer and drum machine powered Detroit techno sound, Chicago dance and on into the realm of new wave with Art Of Noise style uber compressed samples thrown into the mix where it's needed, all without a hint of plagiarism.
It's relentless without demanding the listeners rapt attention, aurally compelling and stirs the imagination with a big carbon fiber stick.
