Massive Attack - Heligoland
From the get go it's all there. As ageless as ever, they just keep on putting out the good stuff without breaking a sweat.
Pray for Rain, driven by burundi drumming, syncopated sequences and transcending into harmonic divergences along the way, leads us deep into Massive Attack's fifth studio album since their critically acclaimed 100th Window released over seven years ago.
Guest appearances include Tunde Adebimpe (TV On The Radio), Damon Albarn (Blur, Gorillaz), Hope Sandoval (Mazzy Star), Guy Garvey (Elbow) and Martina Topley-Bird, who weaves effortlessly into Heligoland in much the same way as Elizabeth Fraser did within Mezzanine.
Already Heligoland is shaping up to be one of my favorite Massive Attack releases.
