Paul Van Dyk - Reflections - Mute

Paul Van Dyk has been turning out classy electronic dance music for years and Reflections is proving his work is getting better with age.

The pounding beats, atmospherics, revolving melody lines and anthems are all there, which is to be expected, but Reflections introduces actual songs, and good ones. Time of our Lives, a single from his first release in three years, embellishes vocals and instruments originally provided by Vega 4.

And listen out for PVD as he lends his sharper image to electronics giant Motorola, supplying Connected in much the same way as The Crystal Method and Fluke lent their considerable coolness to US cop show Third Watch and Volkswagen respectively.
